HOW
TO GET TO THE PRIORY:
By Car, Plane,
BART
The easiest way to come to the Priory by car is to take Highway
880 to the University Avenue Exit. Then take University Avenue East
(away from the Bay) all the way to the University of California Campus. That is
Oxford Street. Don't go into the Campus--turn left on Oxford. You will
then pass Berkeley and Hearst, which have traffic lights, and Virginia which
does not. The next intersection is Cedar. Just before you come to Cedar,
you will see on your right an "Episcopal Church Welcomes You" sign.
That is the parking lot of All Souls' Episcopal Church. Pull into any space not
marked "reserved". The Priory's main entrance is number "1601",
which is the door on the parking-lot side nearest Oxford Street.
If You Arrive by Plane:
The most convenient airport if you're coming to the Priory by plane is the Oakland
International Airport. Somewhat less convenient, though still nearby is the
San Francisco International Airport across the Bay. In both cases there
is a Bus connection to BART which can take you very close to the Priory, but
the easiest way to come is to take an airport limousine. "The Bayporter"
is a company that services both airports, and the cost from the airport to our
door is $19 to $22 (plus tip). To call them from either airport their toll-free

is: (415) 467-1800. You can also place a reservation at their web-site, www.bayporter.com.Tell the driver
that we are located "On the corner of Cedar and Oxford in Berkeley".
To Take BART:
There are several lines on BART, so you need to be sure you're on the right one
(there are maps in all the stations). Take a Richmond bound train and
get off at the Main Berkeley Station (the station after
"Ashby", and before "North Berkeley", coming from Oakland
or San Francisco). The fare from San Francisco is $2.65 each way.
At the Berkeley Station take the escalator to street level. If you intend to
walk, turn right as you step off the escalator and follow Shattuck
Street across University to Cedar. At Cedar turn right again, cross
Shattuck, and go up the hill until you come to Oxford (two blocks). The Priory
is on the corner. The walk takes about 10 minutes.
You can also take the bus from the Berkeley BART. As you step off the escalator
turn right. On the adjacent corner, which is Center St., there is a bus stop.
Take Bus # 67, which is marked Grizzly Peak. This bus stops right
in front of the Priory. Tell the driver you want to get off at the corner of
Cedar and Oxford. The fare is $1.35 (exact change required).
